HIGH POINT — At the upcoming High Point Market, Vaughan-Bassett will be introducing its fourth licensed lineup with Erin & Ben Napier, the stars of the popular Home Town series on HGTV.
The relaxed traditional/casual coastal-inspired Passageways was shown to dealers in person at the recent Premarket. It will show again to a broader audience at the Oct. 13-21 High Point Market.
Vaughan-Bassett President Doug Bassett noted that the licensing partnership is now entering its third year. While the first two groups — one solid and one veneered — are starting to phase out, the third one that launched a year and a half ago — a veneered group called Bungalow Home — is now the No. 1 selling group in the line.
The new line includes three beds: a louvered panel bed, a low profile mantel bed and a panel bed with matching footboard. It is made mostly in solid oak, with some panels in solid birch, and comes in three finishes including a dark Charleston Brown, mid-tone brown called Deep Sand and a lighter gray tone called Oyster Gray.
There are also companion storage pieces including a six-drawer dresser, a five-drawer chest, a three- drawer nightstand and a single-door chest with five drawers. A landscape mirror is also available.
Beds are targeted to retail from $999 to $1,399, said Bassett.
Like other groups in the Vaughan-Bassett line, Passageways is made at the company’s plant in Galax, Va., using North American-grown hardwoods.
The groups received strong early reception at Premarket, where the company saw between 95 and 100 customers, Bassett noted. This compares to about 40 to 45 at a typical Premarket.
“Premarket went great,” he said of dealer attendance. “We saw between double and triple what we normally see.”
Passageways is expected to ship in February 2021. It can be seen at the Vaughan-Bassett showroom in space C-1000 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
