HIGH POINT — Luxury furniture brand South + English has opened its triple-shopfront flagship showroom in time for this week’s High Point Market, and the company co-founders plan to keep it open 365 days a year.
The new 3,600-square-foot showroom is located at 208-212 E. MLK Jr. Drive, where co-founders Palmer Smith and David Ebbetts say they are showcasing their “hip and classic aesthetic with nearly 100 new introductions, including furniture, lamps, objet d’art, fine art reproductions, original art and one-of-a-kind vintage finds.”
“The new showroom is perfect,” said Smith. “The entire space was entirely gutted and reinvented. The floor plan is ever shifting as new product arrives. We will never run out of ideas.”
Introductions at this market include more than 20 new Clean Slate designs, a highly customizable made-in-America collection, and a new paint-match finish program called Kaleidoscope. The finishes are available in three application types, offering various degrees of wood grain visibility.
Other introductions include South + English’s winter 2021 collections, an assortment of cabinets, desks, chests, accent tables, upholstered pieces, lamps and art.
“We are introducing this showroom at the market and won’t close it afterwards,” said Ebbetts. “It’s a beautiful ever-changing expression of our brand.”
As an inaugural member of the new High Point x Design organization, working to reposition High Point as a year-round hub of design and creativity, Ebbetts added, “Today, the idea of a real estate and brand marketing investment that sits idle 355 days a year seems, well, crazy.”
