HICKORY, N.C. – Luxury furniture manufacturer Sherrill Furniture is holding a national ad campaign that aims to recognize the talents and contributions of the company’s domestic production team working across four locations in the Hickory area.

The campaign, which kicks off Dec. 7, continues through the rest of the month with social media posts introducing employees and telling their stories.

The event will then feature a $1,200 giveaway during the 12 days leading up the Christmas with the #ChristmasWithSherrill Sweepstakes on Instragram.

“The Christmas With Sherrill campaign is all about celebrating the talented people behind the scenes who make this company and the furniture industry great,” said Dax Allen, vice president of marketing. “The social photo and gift-away event is just a fun way to let everyone in furniture celebrate with us, and getting to gift-away $100 to 12 winners at Christmas makes it even more fun for us.”

“We are extremely thankful for every one of the more than 1,000 employees that came together day after day during such a challenging year to deliver great quality, American-made furniture and service to our customers,” added Thad Monroe, president of Sherrill.

The employees include Chris Owensby, who has worked at Motioncraft for almost 17 years. He primarily works in the spring up department, but he also has expanded his contributions by building frames, loading the line, pulling stock, eight-way-hand-tie and more.

“Whenever I build furniture here, I always build it as if I’m going to put it in my own house. That’s how I’ve always looked at it. That’s the quality we should be putting out every day,” Owensby said.

Dan Elder is another craftsman who was born and raised in the foothills of North Carolina and has worked in the furniture industry in the Hickory area for most of his lives. He currently runs the new carton machine at Hickory White and handles the specs and measurements to make the cardboard packaging used for all case goods.
