HIGH POINT — In a furniture market where attendance was spread out over a nine-day period and thinned by COVID-19 concerns, Furniture Today still found retailers to share the best thing they saw at market, be it a product, information or a new relationship.

“I’m part of FMG buying group, and we got some information in our packets about this EZ Out bed (by Bernards). … It’s not real glamorous; you push a button, and it lifts you out of the bed and you back right up to it to lie down. But it’s important for people who need it, and it was at a great price with warehousing on the East Coast. I probably hadn’t been in Bernards in six or seven years, but things have changed there, and I was glad I went in and saw what was new.”

“The (Lauren Leiss) collection for Taylor King Furniture was whimsical but rooted in traditional style. I loved her use of velvets, slipcovers and playful fabrics.

“My favorite piece was her wicker daybed which was done in a moss velvet.”

Best of, MT Co

“I’d say the best thing that happened to me at market was … ‘I got a great education.’ When market is busy, you meet owners and make small talk and then they move onto the next customer. At this market, the owners were available, and I took advantage of the benefit. (At MT Co.,) I learned about options and features that I was not aware of.  Better understood pricing options and learned more about the direction they were taking their businesses.”

Best of, Jonathan Louis

Upholstery, Jonathan Louis

“I want to thank our suppliers who did show at the market, as they understand that this uptick will not last forever and that the relationship with their customers is very important now and in the future. The outstanding items this market were Jonathan Louis upholstery, Avalon Furniture’s bedrooms and Pulaski bedrooms.”
