DAYTON, Ohio — Morris Furniture is looking for ways to get the vote out.

All Morris Home Furniture & Mattress, Ashley HomeStore, Morris Outlet, Ashley Outlets and Better Sleep Shops located in Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, and Florence, Ky., are participating in a promotion where eligible shoppers will get their qualifying purchase free if 6.3 million Ohio voters cast a vote by mail or in-person in the Nov. 3 election.

“The United States of America are most united when everyone exercises their right to vote,” said Larry Klaben, president and CEO of Morris Furniture Co. “In a way, our home furnishings unite friends and family every day, creating environments where we engage in conversation and share our points of view. We want to encourage every voter to use their voice beyond the comforts of home and exercise their right to vote.

“While voters may not agree on the best candidate, everyone can agree that $8 million in free furniture deserves an endorsement.”

The Brookings Institution reports that there is every reason to expect a record turnout in 2020. “I expect voter turnout to be exceptional, perhaps the highest in over a century, since 1908,” said Michael McDonald, who directs the U.S. Elections Project.

Marcus Moore, Morris Furniture vice president of advertising and marketing, said, “We are hoping that our customers receive $8 million in free furniture with this offer. We are encouraging our customers to tell their friends and family to vote for the future of our country and free furniture.”

Complete details about the promotion are available in the stores or at votefreefurniture.com.
