POZNAN, Poland – The Meble Polska and Home Décor home furnishings trade shows here, originally scheduled for February 2021, have been rescheduled for May 25-28.

Show organizer Grupa MTP decided to postpone the events due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and predictions concerning the course of the coronavirus in coming months. The move includes all other shows scheduled for the first half of 2021 at the Poznan Expo venue.

The next edition of the Arena Design event that typically runs concurrently with Meble Polska has been cancelled for next year and will resume in 2022. That event was scrubbed for 2021 due to the nature of its targeted audience, which includes groups of students and design enthusiasts, as well as the general public.

In a release, Meble Polska Director Józef Szyszka noted a significant risk that many foreign buyers would not be able to come to Poznań in February due to various restrictions.

“After consultation with a group of the largest exhibitors and representatives of selected buyers groups, we came to the conclusion that the optimum date for the fair will be May,” Szyska said. “This is a temporary return to the old date when the furniture fair in Poznan was held. However, we hope that next editions can be organized again at the beginning of the year. We have received signals that May is also beneficial for the interior design industry.”
