LOGAN, Utah — Bedding and furniture company Malouf has added four members to its national distribution team to support its growing shipping and logistics network.

The new team members are:

  • Ryan Egbert – national distribution director
  • Braden Brown – national distribution manager Ohio and Calif.
  • Colby Hennessy – national distribution manager for North Carolina and Texas
  • Amanda Hennessy – national distribution HR manager

Company leadership said these four individuals have developed extensive knowledge of Malouf’s distribution model, facilities, software and employees with Egbert acting as the primary driver of the distribution growth for 10 years.

In addition, Colby Hennessy managed the North Carolina warehouse for the three years, through several expansions, and Brown launched the Ohio distribution center, managing operations for the initial two years. Amanda Hennessy managed human resources in the North Carolina distribution center for three years, and now oversees all distribution center human resource initiatives and location-specific administrators.

The company has also expanded coverage of its distribution centers in California, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas by adding a new shift to create seven-day coverage and expedite shipping with the centers now running in two shifts: Monday to Thursday and then Friday to Monday. The shifts are designed to overlap on Monday to process the generally higher level of orders received that day.

“The goal is to have more support on our busiest day and get our retail partners their orders sooner,” said Egbert. “This new shift allows us to take advantage of our shipping partners’ increased weekend availability. Then our team can alleviate the strain on our staff and accelerate delivery times.”

Egbert said COVID-19 precautions and increased demand have extended shipping times.

The national distribution team will oversee all operations and work with the sales to create a comprehensive distribution plan.

“We’re lucky to have such a knowledgeable and proactive team,” said Eric Holmstead, Malouf national sales manager. “Since we’ve started shipping furniture and increased the scale of orders, we’ve worked with the national distribution team to streamline our strategy. Seven-day coverage will make us even more efficient.”
