CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Kimbrell’s Furniture has promoted longtime employee Carol Faircloth to assistant vice president of sales and marketing, working alongside Vice President of Sales and Marketing Jerry Peters in the new position.

Faircloth started her career at Kimbrell’s more than 30 years ago as a cashier at the retailer’s downtown Raleigh, N.C., location. From there, she worked her way through the store’s list of positions before being promoted to store manager for the location.

In 1997, Faircloth opened another Raleigh location for the company, this time on Wilmington Street, and went on to manage it for 18 years before transitioning into an area supervisor position, overseeing the operations of 10 stores across North Carolina in total. In that role, Faircloth said she was able to apply the lessons she learned as a store manager directly to her work with different stores.

“Being a store manager taught me how to deal with people, the biggest challenge in this business,” noted Faircloth. “Having to ride up and down the road to see all my stores took a while to get used to, too.”

In her new role, Faircloth with work alongside Peters working on digital market and store planning, as well as opening Kimbrell’s three newest Eastern North Carolina stores, part of the nine locations for which she is area supervisor.

The new stores, all located in former Toys R Us buildings, are the largest of the Charlotte, N.C.-based Top 100 company’s locations, and they are also representative of what Faircloth said is the company’s vision of the future of a Kimbrell’s shopping experience.

“I guess when I walked into the doors way back when I was 18, I never thought I was going to stay this long,” said Faircloth. “But it’s just a really amazing company, and I’ve gotten to work with and be mentored by some really amazing people. This chapter I’m in is another example of that.”
