HIGH POINT — At this week’s High Point Market, Hooker Furniture is adding 45 new pieces to its Mélange collection of consumer fashion and globally inspired accent pieces to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year and total retail sales of more than $250 million so far.

“Ten years ago, we identified a niche in the marketplace for high-style accent pieces with luxurious looks at affordable price points,” said Tim O’Hare, senior vice president of merchandising and design for Hooker Furniture case goods. “The collection, which includes an eclectic assortment of accent pieces inspired by industry-leading consumer fashion, style and design trends — at affordable price points — has proven to resonate with consumers year after year, as it consistently ranks among our top performers, generating more than a quarter of a billion dollars in retail sales.

The new pieces fall within several consumer lifestyle trends the company has identified:

  • The Traditionalist is rooted in classic forms with an “eccentric flair.” Key materials include rustic wood, travertine, decorative silver motifs, onyx details and nailhead trim.
  • The theme of global travel is seen in the Collector, which the company said combines bold colors and mixed styles from around the world. Wood pieces feature rustic and distressed pecan, mango, maple and oak veneers that are mixed with materials such as travertine, hand-hammered wrought iron and cane.
  • The Individualist blends a fashion-forward home style that aims to complement the stylish wardrobes of professional consumers. Materials such as marble, metal, terrazzo, bone inlay, jute rope add contrast to woods such as mango, while other pieces feature contrasting black and white tones that combine with “touches of gold.”
  • The Sophisticate offers a glam-inspired design aesthetic as seen in pieces bearing black, white and gold tones and high sheen lacquers, acrylics, faux horn details, stainless steel and marble accents.

The additions, along with other inline items in Mélange, can be seen in the International Home Furnishings Center, space C-1058.
