HIGH POINT – The steering committee for the First Tuesday event here has announced a logo, and confirmed upcoming dates and direction moving forward.

First Tuesday’s January event will open on Jan. 5, and remain open Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 6-7. The extension over three days was based on retailer needs and requests.

More than 85 showrooms opened for retail traffic during the initial First Tuesday earlier this month, and organizers expect that to reach 100 for next month’s edition. All open showroom information will be presented at the entrance of each market building identifying shopping opportunities for retailers attending the event.

The next First Tuesday will run Feb. 2-4 and then conform to the dates for March Premarket and April High Point Market.

First Tuesday committee companies will coordinate marketing of the event in conjunction with the High Point Market Authority. The committee also has approved a First Tuesday logo for promotions moving forward. The logo demonstrates the commitment and banner for the event.

In addition, the steering committee confirmed that member companies all have committed to showing new products and is requesting each open showroom to do the same in order to further validate the event.

Along with promoting First Tuesday as an opportunity to visit market-ready showrooms in a more controlled, less crowded buying environment that addresses retailer concerns about the ongoing pandemic, the committee asked all open showrooms to adhere to all safety protocols put in place by the High Point Market Authority as well as the State of North Carolina. Building owners, as well as the Market Authority, have all agreed to support the event by taking additional measures to ensure visitors a safe shopping experience.

High Point Market Authority also has made its concierge service available to all visitors coming to High Point to assist with hotels and services. For information, contact the High Point Market Authority.

The Initial vendor Members of the committee include representatives from  Crown Mark Furniture, HHC, Jackson Furniture/Catnapper, Klaussner Home Furnishings, Kuka North America, Manwah USA (Cheers/MW Home), Palliser, Sunpan and Feizy, as well as the High Point Market Authority.

The committee gathered for the first time during the December event. Plans are to add additional members and meet in person during each future event.
