HIGH POINT – American Silk Mills has announced that industry veteran and former Furniture Today publisher Kevin Castellani has joined the textile manufacturer’s board of directors.

In a release, ASM said Castellani, currently director of communications at upholstery major Manwah USA, is a renowned proponent of the furniture industry and has been an innovator in the both the industry as well as furniture media business for more than three decades.

In addition to serving as publisher, Castellani also served as president of Furniture Today’s parent company, Progressive Business Media.

In addition to serving on the Board of Directors at American Silk Mills, Castellani has also served on the boards of the American Home Furnishing Hall of Fame, the International Alliance of Furniture Publications and the ADL.

American Silk Mills was acquired by Sutlej Textiles and Inds. Ltd. in November 2017. American Silk Mills was founded in 1896 and specializes in designing, weaving, and distributing innovative textiles to customers across residential, contract, transportation, and specialty markets. American Silk Mills products include indoor/outdoor performance fabrics, fine jacquard textiles, high quality silks, a variety of luxurious velvets and Sensuede, an eco-friendly synthetic suede.
