BASSETT, Va. — Bassett Mirror has named a new president, a new senior vice president and added one new position.

Melissa Whitaker was promoted to president and COO in July, succeeding Lewis Canter, who retired in June. With the company since 2013, Whitaker was previously Bassett Mirror’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

“Bassett Mirror is lucky to have Melissa become the future and the face of the brand,” said Chairman and CEO Spencer Morten III. “She has excelled from day one because of her eye for design, speed to results, and discipline.”

Brad Russell, who has been with the company since 1999, has been promoted to senior vice president of operations. He previously held the role of vice president of global sourcing.

Tracy White has been tapped to the new post of director of visual presentation. She will be responsible for the company’s visual direction for the showroom, website and product development within the Home Décor division. White recently spent the last 9 years as a consulting creative director with various furniture manufacturers in China.
