RH recalls 7,800 Wine Barrel chandeliers

CORTE MADERA, Calif. – Retailer RH has recalled about 7,800 of its Wine Barrel chandeliers due to a fall hazard that can potentially injure consumers.

The recall involves several Wine Barrel Chandelier models, the full list of which can be seen here. In addition to the 7,800 recalled in the U.S., some 600 were also sold in Canada.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said that hardware parts used to hang the chandeliers can break, causing the unit to fall from the ceiling.

While no injuries have been reported, the company has received 14 reports of the hanging hardware components breaking, including 11 reports of the chandeliers falling.

The units were made in Poland and India and were imported by RH US LLC of Corte Madera, Calif. They were sold at RH galleries nationwide and online and also were sold at www.rh.com from April 2009 through July 2018 at RH outlets nationwide from October 2009 through March 2020 for up to $3,500.

Consumers have been advised to prevent people from going into the immediate area underneath the chandelier. They should also contact RH to schedule a free in-home repair or replacement based on the individual hardware type of the chandelier. RH is contacting all known purchasers directly.

For more information, consumers can contact RH toll free at (833) 786-0028 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, Saturday and Sunday. Or email recall@rh.com or visit www.rh.com and click on the Safety Recalls tab at the bottom of the page.
